Hey sis, I'm so glad you're here!

When I was in my late teens, I was a bit of... a mess. I was struggling, yall. I was making poor decisions even though I was a believer and knew the truth about Jesus that set me free. Thankfully, when I met my first mentor, things started to turn around. By the time I graduated high school, I had straight As, prom queen title, a full ride to college, and most importantly, was walking with Jesus... okay, stumbling along with Him...

I went off to college, and things went a little downhill again. Why was I in this vicious cycle of right and wrong?! I felt just like Paul when he said in Romans 7:19, "I want to do what is good, but I don’t. I don’t want to do what is wrong, but I do it anyway."

Yes! That was me!

Fast-forward fifteen-ish years, and I realized where I went wrong. I was trying to just "wing it" and figure things out on my own [a.k.a the hard way] when I could have been seeking wise counsel and asking for help. My stubbornness wasted me some of the best years of my life, and looking back, I would have done quite a few things different.

When I was younger, my mom would always tell me, "One day when you have kids of your own, you'll understand." I still don't have kids, but I do finally understand. I understand the value of experience and wisdom. I understand how much you learn when you "walk in it yourself" and then look back. I understand how helpful it is to talk to someone who's "been-there-done-that."

I want to share what I've learned in hopes that you make better decisions as a young woman in the best years of your life. I want to be the mentor for you that I wish I had ALL of my younger years (and not just when things were goin' good.) I want to listen, encourage, direct, and guide you God's way—not my way.

I want to pray you forward.

Why mentorship?

John 15:5 says that apart from God we can do nothing and Romans 3:23 says, “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (NIV). We are saved by grace alone, and not by our acts, good deeds, or accomplishments. However, in Ephesians 4, God urges us to live a life worthy of the calling we have received. He calls us to be a God-honoring, Holy people and to live righteously. He sent His only Son to die for our sins, and our obedient response is a way of thanking and honoring Him for His great sacrifice.

As we pursue God’s calling to be a Holy people, we find that we often need someone to help us “restring our pearls” so that we can start wearing them again. We need the reminder that nothing can separate us from the love of Christ Jesus. His love is unconditional, so let’s show Him how thankful we are for His abounding love.

Together, let’s restring your pearls.
