Younger generations are leaving the church in droves.
Many young women lack the parental guidance or strong familial support system that they need in their most difficult years. Most would agree, our young people are at a societal disadvantage. They are battling political strife, segregation, and technological distractions causing isolation and disconnection from one another. However, we know from God’s Word that He will be with our young people wherever they go and that their “plans will succeed with many advisers” (Proverbs 15:22).
Pray Her Forward (PHF) hopes to start by partnering with the local church. In early 2025, we will launch the first Biblical mentorship curriculum for young women of its kind. This 260-page, beautiful spiral-bound curriculum covers twelve of the most challenging topics that young women face. Included are relatable stories, thoughtful questions for the mentor and mentee, topical Scripture, Biblical application, SMART goal setting guidance, prayer writing, and more. But first, our mentees need mentors, and together we must empower older women to mentor younger women.
How PHF Can Help
- Support discipleship happening inside the church with reinforcement outside of the church
- Equip the church and ministries with resources for young women to support an effective mentorship program
- Help empower older women to mentor younger women
- Help equip women of all ages for discipleship
- Assess the desire and communicate the need for younger women to have spiritual mothers
- Provide another curriculum option for small group, individual, or 1-1 study
How the Church Can Help
- Utilize the resources provided by Pray Her Forward to support a mentorship program for young women
- Empower the congregation to recognize the importance of one-on-one discipleship for all ages
- Encourage older women to volunteer to mentor younger women
- Consider incorporating a mentorship development program like CAYM (Christian Association for Youth Mentoring)
Our young people need us more than ever.
Americans are leaving the church in droves. Our young people feel isolated and alone, skeptical about the church, and uncertain about their future. It is time for women to link arms with our younger generation and walk with them through some of the most difficult seasons of life. It is time we remind them of the only thing that has not changed: God's love and His hope for our future.
